Join us for worship on Sunday!

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church has been an active member of the Monroe community since 1802. Our roots go back to England and the Celtic Christians over a millennium ago as well as our brother and sisters in the Church of England (Anglican) of the English Reformation.

Our Sunday Eucharist services are our primary way of gathering together but our ministry is varied and involves the whole parish family.

Our outreach efforts have included Habitat for Humanity, Covenant to Care with DCF, Episcopal Relief & Development, Children’s Mission in New Haven and the Souper Bowl, which are part of our love and care to our neighbors nearby and far away. Our ongoing formation as Christians occurs through Church School for children and youth, adult bible studies and forums, and the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation.

There are many ways to be involved in our parish through worship (choir, eucharistic ministers, acolytes), parish life (ECW and Men’s Club), and pastoral care (Knit One, Pray Too). You are welcome to join our parish family as we journey together in faith and love.

You become a member of St. Peter’s through baptism (by virtue of having been baptized (in any tradition)) and having your name recorded in our records or by transfer from your former Episcopal parish.

Members are expected to attend regularly and give out of their abundance (time, talent & treasure) to the mission and ministry of the Church.

The “Via Media” class is held each year to help newcomers learn more about the Episcopal Church in an open and inviting atmosphere. The class uses video clips and small group discussion to help people know more about the Episcopal Church and their own spiritual journey.

Those new to the Episcopal Church are invited to make a public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism by receiving the laying on of hands by our Bishop in the sacrament of Confirmation or the rite of Reception into this Communion.

Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on your journey of faith, we welcome you to St. Peter's.

St. Peter's mission is to welcome with God's love all people on their journey of faith.
