Rite-13 Hunger Dinner

To experience some of the dynamics that create hunger in the world.

 

Objectives

  • To provide a simulated hunger meal.
  • Through eating and sharing in this meal, to explore some of the dynamics that create hunger in the world.
  • To determine what is a Christian response to world hunger and poverty.

The participants were divided in a 1:3:6 ratio, representing the wealthy, industrialized world (First World), the less wealthy but also industrialized world (Second World)...

The Third World

and the poor, unindustrialized world (Third World).  After the meal and discussion, all enjoyed some chocolate.
