Monroe Food Pantry Donations

Food Pantry Needs

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is proud to be a key collection point for donations to the Monroe Food Pantry.

The mission of the Monroe Food Pantry is to serve the people in our community who are struggling financially in a way that preserves their dignity…to provide a basis for understanding that the people who use the pantry could be our neighbors and friends who are struggling without our knowledge.

Parishioners, visitors, and Little Ivy Nursery School families can bring their food pantry donations to St. Peter’s at any time.

Our focus for 2018 will be on donating Paper Goods, Toiletries and Cleaning Supplies.

Why Paper Goods? The purpose of the “Paper Pantry” is to supplement and provide paper goods and personal care items to families and individuals who use the Monroe Food Pantry. Often they also receive benefits through the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. SNAP excludes the purchase of these kinds of products (anything that is not food). These items are often not donated to the “Food” Pantry, so we began the “Paper Pantry” to help the Monroe Food Pantry fulfill this aspect of their mission.
