Sunday, December 21, 10:15 – Annual Christmas Pageant
Our 4th annual “no rehearsal” pageant will be held Sunday morning, December 21, 2014, during the 10:15 service. Any children wishing to participate should arrive no later than 10:00 to select a costume and receive brief instructions. The annual church potluck Christmas party follows the service. Come be a part of this Christmas tradition!
Christmas Eve Services: 5pm and 7:30pm
There are two opportunities to celebrate Christmas Eve with St Peter’s this year. Join us at 5:00 for our ever popular Family Festal Service, or at 7:30 for our Christmas Eve Vigil.
Warm Hands, Warm Hearts
St Peter’s Church School is collecting new or knitted mittens and gloves as Christmas gifts to new immigrants from warm climates who are not accustomed to Connecticut winters. Donated gloves will be distributed by the International Institute of Connecticut. Look for the donation box in the Undercroft.
Donate Christmas Gifts for Children
You are invited to support our commitment to Covenant to Care by signing up to purchase a Christmas gift for an underprivileged child. Names and ages of children have been provided by our social worker partner at Bridgeport Department of Children and Families. Gifts should be in the $20/$25 range. The wrapped and tagged gifts must be brought to St. Peter’s Church on or before Sunday, December 21. You can sign up in the church Narthex or online by clicking here.
Mosquito Nets for Mozambique
$5 can give the gift of life! We are raising money to purchase mosquito nets for our partner parish in Mozambique. Our friend Bishop Sengulane mentioned on his visit here how such a simple gift can help stop the spread of malaria. Consider giving nets for Christmas – $5 a piece! You can give a donation designated for mosquito nets online or on Sundays.
St Peter’s Church School
Children and Youth are part of the life and spirit of St Peter’s Church. On Sundays during the school year, children ages pre-K to teen may attend Church School during the 10:15 Service. The classes help guide them as they learn about the faith and hear stories from the Bible.
Church School Classes:
Upstairs (in nursery classrooms):
- Beulah Land (PK – 1) telling the stories of our faith
- Godly Play (Grades 2 – 4) godly playing with the stories of our faith
Downstairs (in Memorial Room):
- Emmaus (Grades 5 – 9) discovering Jesus in our midst
Family Sundays are held on selected Sundays throughout the year. Instead of attending Church School, children join in the 10:15 service, which features a Children’s Sermon and a simplified Children’s Liturgy.
We ask that all church school families complete this brief registration form.
We have something for everyone. Whether you like to read, sing, knit, garden, build, cook, watch movies or talk, you can find a place to fit in at St Peter’s. Click one of the opportunities below or contact the church office for more information.
